International arrival at Shanghai international airport. Our guide will be meeting you just outside the Baggage Claim Area. Private transfer back to the hotel in downtown Shanghai. The rest of day will be at your own leisure to fresh up from the longtime flight.

  • Stay in Shanghai

City tour today to visit the Bund along the Huang Pu River. Meandering around in the Shanghai Museum which is reputed as the best in China. Continue the tour in the afternoon to the Yu Garden and explore the Old Town Market just outside there. Back to the hotel if time permits. Enjoy a typical Shanghai local cuisine and transfer to the famous Shanghai Circus for the Acrobatic Show, the best in China.

  • Start the day by visiting the Jade Buddha Temple first, Drive to the Pu Dong New Development Zone to feel the modern bustling Shanghai. The former French Concession will be an ideal place for a relaxing beer time for either beer, or coffee. Free time in the afternoon that you may enjoy your own arrangements, or do some shopping at your own leisure.
  • Transfer to the Downtown Railway Station of Shanghai to board on the overnight soft-sleeper train late in the afternoon for Mountain Huangshan.

The train arrives at Tunxi in the morning at 9:00. Our guide will meet you on the platform upon arrival. Private transfer to the hotel in Tunxi, and about an hour to arrive at Hongcun village. Check into the hotel near by the village and enjoy the rest of day exploring this world cultural heritage site.

Private transfer for about an hour drives to Mount Huangshan, enjoying the fantastic Bamboo Forest scenery along the way. Take cable car to ascend the mountain. A light hiking for about half hour to the mountain peak whilst enjoying the picturesque scenery on the way. Check into the hotel for a break. Our guide will come with you for the mountain exploration in the whole afternoon.

  • Free time in the morning and you may get up early in the morning watching the sunrise in front of the hotel, Descend the mountain by cable car. Private transfer back to Tunxi city, lunch will be served en route. Free time in the afternoon to explore the Tunxi Old Trading Street.

  • Be met upon landing at Beijing. Direct transfer back to the hotel.

  • Start city sightseeing this morning to the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City. Lunch served in an authentic Chinese restaurant.  Visit the Temple of Heaven. Be back to the hotel for a short rest if time permits. Dinner tonight will be the rewarding Peking Roasted Duck served at one of the time-honored duck restaurants.

Hiking in Huangshan can be moderately challenging with many steps. However, I can adjust the route based on your fitness level, and there are cable cars available for easier access to some areas.

You'll stay in comfortable 4-star hotels in Beijing and Shanghai. In Huangshan, I recommend spending one night in a hotel on the mountain for the best sunrise experience.
