  • Upon arrival in Xiamen, our guide and driver will meet you and provide a private transfer to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to soak in the local atmosphere.
  • We recommend taking a leisurely walk along Zhongshan Road to see the beautiful arcade buildings that blend Chinese, Western, and other Asian cultural styles. This is also a great opportunity to try the local food, as Fujian cuisine is known for being non-spicy, focusing on the freshness of the food ingredients.
  • Stay in Xiamen

  • Begin our excursion after breakfast, our guide and driver will meet you at the hotel lobby, take a 3-hour scenic ride to Nanjing county. Today's highlight will be visitng traditional Chinese rural dwelling called TuLou , which is unique to the Hakka people in the mountainous regions of southeastern Fujian province. These large, fortress-like buildings are constructed from rammed earth and timber, designed to house multiple families and provide communal living spaces. Tulous are typically circular or rectangular in shape, with a central courtyard surrounded by multiple stories of rooms. The walls, made from compacted earth mixed with stone and bamboo, can be up to 2 meters thick, providing insulation and protection against the elements and potential attackers.
  • Each tulou can house dozens of families, often from the same clan, with individual rooms arranged around the courtyard. Common areas include shared kitchens, dining areas, and ancestral halls. In 2008, Tulou together with its well-kept culture by Hakka people were enlisted by UNESCO as world cultural heritage.
  • We will walk up to a higher platform that offers the best angle to view the Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster. These tulous, built near mountains and scattered among rice paddies, resemble a set of meal dishes on a natural tablecloth. The cluster includes three round tulous, one rectangular, and one oval-shaped tulou. One of the most impressive tulous we'll see today was built between 1308 and 1338. With a history of over 600 years, it is the highest, biggest, and oldest tulou in Nanjing County.
  • After a lunch break, we will visit Taxia Village. A small river cuts through the village, with earthen tulou buildings along both banks. Multiple big and small tulous are built along the riverbanks, earning the village the nickname "Water Town of Taichi" for its rich tulou flavor. You won't want to miss Yude Building, known as the “Apron Building,” Deyuan Hall, with its outstanding sculptures of birds, beasts, and flowers, and the 24 Hakka stone flagpoles beside the semilunar pond.
  • Then, we will drive to Yongding to visit the Gaobei Tulou Cluster. With a history of more than 300 years, the construction of the Chengqi Tulou building lasted over half a century and is known as the “King of Tulou.” We will walk into this huge earthen building, which has a diameter of 72 meters, to admire its amazing design of four circles and four floors arranged in a circle-in-circle pattern, following the principles of Bagua. This tulou represents the highest level of tulou construction.

  • After breakfast in the morning, we will take a ferry for about 20 minutes on the sea to another UNESCO world cultural heritage site - GuLangYu island. In size of only 1.88 square kilometers, it is called“the Museum of International Architecture”since many historical architectures built after the Opium War by people from UK, Italy, France, Spain, Japan, and others countires.
  • Take a leisure walk along the old alleys to appreciate the remnants of churches, mansions, villas, banks, and museums that tell the historical stories of Gulangyu. Walk up to the most famous Sunlight Rock and catch the wonderful panorama of the large group of red and pink Western-styled architectures dotted with emerald trees.
  • Next, discover the must-see Shuzhuang Garden, a classic model of a traditional Chinese garden on the sea. Take a leisurely stroll amongst the twisty corridors, ancient halls with flying eaves and blue tiles, delicate pavilions, poetic gardens, and ponds facing the shimmering sea. Experience its traditional Chinese literary beauty contrasting with the surrounding Western charm.
  • Step into the outstanding Piano Museum, which boasts an impressive collection of nearly 100 precious old pianos from all over the world, Many of the pianos have historical significance, with some dating back several centuries.
  • After enjoying the cultural heritage journey, we will take the ferry back to Xiamen downtown.

  • We will depart Xiamen and continue our journey HuangShan Mountain, the next highlight on this China tour. After about 4-hour scenic ride on the bullet train, We will be greeted by our guide and driver at Huangshan Bei station upon arrival and drive for about 15 kilometers to check into the hotel in TunXi.
  • If time permits, we recommend exploring the famous Tunxi Old Street during your free time. Known as Ancient Street or Laojie, it is a pedestrian-friendly street lined with well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty buildings. As you stroll along the street, you can admire traditional Hui-style architecture, including wooden buildings with black-tiled roofs, whitewashed walls, and intricate carvings.
  • You can shop for local specialties such as ink stones, ink sticks, tea, and Huizhou-style souvenirs. There are also traditional restaurants and teahouses where you can enjoy local delicacies. Tunxi Old Street offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of the region, making it a must-visit destination in Huangshan City.

  • We will drive for about 1.5 hours in the morning after breakfast to the foot of Yellow Mountain (Mount Huangshan). Our guide will escort you to take the shuttle bus organized by the Mountain Management to the cable car station. From there, we will ascend to the upper mountain level where the famous sightseeing spots are located.
  • First, we will visit the North Sea Scenic Area, renowned for its clouds winding around the mountains like a fairyland. The area is also famous for its marvelous precipitous peaks, beautiful giant pine trees, and far-reaching views on clear sunny days.
  • Next, we will hike to the lofty Begin-to-Believe Peak (1,668m), where you can stretch your eyesight beyond the cloud seas into the far distance. We will then hike for about an hour to the Dispelling Cloud Pavilion to look down at the Dreamland – West Sea Grand Canyon. Walking down along the stone steps to the bottom of the canyon, you will enjoy views of Avatar-like rising rock peaks, unfathomable cliffs, bizarre stones, and tenacious pine trees.
  • For energetic hikers, it usually takes about 3 hours to hike from the Dispelling Cloud Pavilion, via the 1st Ring and 2nd Ring, to the bottom and back to the starting point. For beginners, children, and senior travelers, you can decide the hiking length based on your physical condition—usually 2 hours for the 1st Ring and 2.5 hours for the 2nd Ring. At the bottom of the canyon, there is also a monorail cable train for those who prefer not to walk back up.
  • If time and energy allow, you can spend about an hour exploring the Sky Sea Scenic Area. Here, you can enjoy the sunset from the second-highest peak, Bright Summit (1,840m), visit the incredible Flying-over Rock, and then return to your hotel for a good rest.

  • Early get up in the morning (between 5am to 6am). We will enjoy watching the magnificent scene of the sun rising from Mount Huangshan. The terrace, a few minutes' walking distance from the Beihai Hotel, is a great spot to watch the sunrise. On a clear day, we expect to see the golden light of the sun piercing the mists, and the rocky peaks rising above the frothy, ever-changing sea of white clouds. After the sunrise, walk back to your hotel for breakfast.
  • Continue on your wonderful sightseeing on the Yellow Mountain to see the famous Dawn Pavilion, Stone Monkey Watching the Sea on the Lion Peak (1690m). Then walk along the wood path to the cable station to descend the mountain. Private transfer for about 1.5 hours back to Tunxi town. The rest of the day will be at your own leisure to freshen up from the mountain climbing and build up the energy again for the coming days of wonderful China tours.

  • Begin our day by checking out of the hotel after breakfast. Private transfer for about an hour drive to the famous Hongcun and Xidi. With a history dating back to the Song Dynasty (960-1276), these are two remarkable villages enlisted by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage sites, showcasing the best examples of ancient Chinese Huizhou style architecture. Unlike most ancient Chinese buildings, their layout, decoration, architectural form, and construction techniques retain their original features.
  • Xidi Village is only about 10km from Hongcun. Its well-spaced houses with white walls, elegant decorations, and black tiles are surrounded by mountains, making Xidi an ideal place for painting from life. Xidi is a magnificent village of imperial officers, contributing about 130 government officials, some of whom were dignitaries in the imperial courts during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Currently, there are still 124 well-preserved ancient dwellings with unique styles in the village.

Huangshan has a subtropical highland climate with distinct seasons. Summers (June to August) are warm and humid, with temperatures averaging 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F). Winters (December to February) are cold, with temperatures often dropping below freezing, especially at higher elevations. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) feature mild temperatures and are generally considered the best times to visit, as the weather is pleasant and the scenery is particularly beautiful. Rainfall is most common in summer, so visitors should be prepared for changing weather conditions.
