Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring history of the Leshan Giant Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This monumental statue, carved over 90 years from 713 to 803 AD during the Tang Dynasty, stands as the largest stone Buddha in the world. Chengdu is famous for Sichuan cuisine, known for its spicy, numbing flavours. Signature dishes include Chengdu Hot Pot, Mapo Tofu, and Kung Pao Chicken. Street food like Dan Dan Noodles and Sweet Water Noodles are also popular among locals and visitors. I can arrange food tours or recommend restaurants for you to try local specialties.
Most hotels and restaurants accept cards, but having some cash is useful for small vendors. I can recommend good spots for exchanging money if needed.
We stay in comfortable 4-star hotels in the cities. In more remote areas, such as Dunhuang, we choose the best available hotels, typically 3-star quality.
