Itinerary
Your tour to Chongqing Wulong karst begins at 08:30, our guide will pick you up from your downtown Chongqing hotel. You will enjoy a comfortable 3-hour private ride through picturesque landscapes as we head to Wulong County, home to some of the world’s most spectacular karst formations, including colossal stone bridges, deep sinkholes, and winding gorges.
After lunch, immerse yourself in the heart of the Chongqing Wulong karst region with a visit to the Three Natural Bridges. This UNESCO-listed marvel, also called Wulong Tiankeng, is a rare geological wonder featuring the world’s largest cluster of natural limestone bridges—Tianlong, Qinglong, and Heilong Bridges. These massive arches, each towering over 200 meters (660 feet) high, stretch across the Yangshui River in a breathtaking display of nature’s power.
As you trek through the lush valley, you’ll be surrounded by the enchanting beauty of the Chongqing Wulong karst landscape—misty waterfalls, hidden caves, and tranquil streams. This surreal setting was featured in Hollywood’s Transformers: Age of Extinction and Zhang Yimou’s Curse of the Golden Flower. Standing beneath these ancient bridges, you’ll feel the awe-inspiring grandeur of millions of years of natural sculpting.
Your 2 to 2.5-hour journey through the Chongqing Wulong karst also includes a stop at a Tang Dynasty (618–907) postal station near Qinglong Bridge. This well-preserved wooden complex, once a hub for officials and travelers, offers a fascinating glimpse into China’s imperial past.
Friendly Tips:After some free time to wander around, your Wulong trip from Chongqing concludes. You will be transferred back to your hotel. Upon arrival at around 18:30, you could have an independent tour to admire Chongqing’s night view for which our guide could give you some helpful advice.
