Itinerary

Day 1: Tibet Arrival | Check-in

Welcome to Lhasa Tibet! Famous for being the “Roof of the World”, and breathtaking Tibetan culture, with the stunning Potala Palace, sacred Jokhang Temple and many more.

Upon your arrival at the Lhasa Gonggar Airport or the train station, our Tibetan guide will greet you with a traditional Hada(ceremonial scarf) as a symbol of hospitality. Enjoy scenic views en route to your hotel, then rest and adjust to the high altitude (3,650 meters/12,000 feet).

After your hotel check-in, our guide will meet you with Tibetan gifts and travel tips. You will have free time for the rest of the day, so explore the vibrant streets of Lhasa and stroll around Barkor Street, the heart of Tibetan life.

Day 2: Tibet Lhasa to Shigatse Tour | Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street

After breakfast, you will begin your Lhasa adventure at the iconic Potala Palace, a UNESCO site. Admire its stunning architecture and explore sacred chapels filled with rich history and spirituality.

Next, you will visit the Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s spiritual heart, where pilgrims perform koras (circumambulations), creating a deeply sacred and immersive atmosphere.

Later, stroll through lively Barkhor Street, a bustling market and pilgrimage path. Explore Tibetan culture, browse handicrafts, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere with locals and travelers.

To end the day, soak in Lhasa’s charm in the evening and reflect on the day’s adventure before the following day.

Day 3: Tibet Lhasa to Shigatse Tour | Drepung Monasterty, Sera Monastery

After breakfast, you will explore Tibet’s spiritual heart with visits to two revered monasteries. Start at Drepung Monastery, once the world’s largest, featuring stunning architecture, rich history, and scenic hillside views.

In the afternoon, you will be visiting Sera Monastery to watch lively monk debates, where they clap and gesture passionately, offering a unique glimpse into Tibetan Buddhist learning.

At the end of the day, your driver will send you back to your hotel for you to enjoy a leisure evening in Lhasa.

Day 4: Tibet Lhasa to Shigatse Tour | Yamdrok Lake, To Shigatse

After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel.

Leave Lhasa behind and journey through Tibet’s rugged landscapes. Reach a mountain pass and admire the stunning turquoise Yamdrok Lake below.This sacred lake, one of Tibet’s holiest, shines like a jewel among snow-capped peaks. Enjoy its peaceful beauty, where the sky and water blend in shades of blue.

As the journey continues west, the landscape opens into a vast valley, leading to Shigatse (3,836m), Tibet’s second-largest city, rich in history and culture.

Arrive in Shigatse and check into your hotel. Experience the city’s mix of Tibetan tradition and modern life. Get a good night’s rest for tomorrow’s adventures.

Day 5: Tibet Lhasa to Shigatse Tour | Tashilunpo Monastery, Everest Base Camp, Rongbuk Monastery

Travel from Shigatse to Everest Base Camp for an unforgettable adventure.

Start with a visit to Tashilhunpo Monastery, home of the Panchen Lama.

Then, take a thrilling drive to Everest Base Camp, watching the landscape shift from green valleys to rocky highlands.

At 5,200 meters, marvel at Mount Everest’s towering peak.

If weather allows, enjoy breathtaking views before resting at Rongbuk Monastery or a tent camp under a starry sky.

You can shop for Tibetan handicrafts, relax in a café with butter tea, or explore more of Lhasa.

Day 8: Tibet Lhasa to Shigatse Tour | Namtso Lake

Start early for a scenic drive to Namtso Lake, one of the world’s highest saltwater lakes at 4,718 meters. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, their snow-capped peaks reflecting in the turquoise waters.

Upon arrival, take in the lake’s serene beauty and spiritual significance, as it’s a sacred site for Tibetan Buddhists. Pilgrims perform kora (circumambulation) around its shores. For adventure, take a short hike along the lakeshore for panoramic views and possible wildlife sightings.

After a peaceful and awe-inspiring visit, return to Lhasa by late afternoon or early evening.

    A very new experience visiting the religious sites. I must say, the view at the lake STUNNING!!! One flaw I really have to say is the UV, the sun was so bad, I did not bring enough sunscreen, so I had a bit of a sunburn.

    The monks were really something else, never in my life have I ever seen anything like this. You really just feel their passion in what they do, very eye-opening. Temperature was nice cuz we went there in September, so pretty cool and nice.
