Welcome to Chengdu, the lively capital of Sichuan province, home to China’s cherished giant pandas and a rich Muslim cultural heritage. Upon arrival at the airport or train station, your friendly local guide and driver will greet you warmly. You’ll then be privately transferred to your hotel for check-in. After settling in, you’ll have the rest of the day to relax or explore Chengdu at your own pace. Take a leisurely walk through the city’s beautiful parks or neighbourhoods, and if you wish, enjoy a meal at a local halal restaurant offering authentic Sichuan cuisine.
Chengdu is well-connected to major cities across China, making it easy to reach from anywhere in the country:
Short 2-3 hour flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Guangzhou, and other major cities.
High-speed trains from Xi’an (4 hours), Chongqing (1 hour), Guilin (6 hours), or Kunming (6 hours).

The nearby Wenshufang bazaar is the perfect spot to browse for local crafts and halal snacks, where you’ll find a great selection of Chengdu’s traditional treats.
Experience the laid-back charm of Chengdu at Renmin Park, a local favorite where you can sip traditional tea and observe locals engaging in relaxing activities such as mahjong or spontaneous dance sessions, all while enjoying the peaceful ambiance.

Stay in Chengdu
Departing from Chengdu early in the morning, your journey takes you to the UNESCO-listed Leshan Giant Buddha. This massive statue, a magnificent feat from the Tang Dynasty, stands 71 meters tall, with its head alone measuring 15 meters. The Buddha was carved to calm the waters where three rivers meet, a once perilous spot for boats navigating the waters.
To fully take in the Buddha’s grandeur, descend the Nine Bends Plank Road, a narrow 217-step path that brings you from the Buddha’s head to its feet, allowing a close-up view of the intricate carvings and the statue’s immense scale.
Next, you will travel to the sacred Mount Emei, an important Buddhist site and a UNESCO World Heritage destination. Here, visit Baoguo Temple at the base of the mountain, known for its tranquil gardens, a vast sutra library, and a magnificent porcelain Buddha. Don’t miss the temple’s giant 25-ton bronze bell, one of the largest in China.
As evening falls, you’ll check in to your hotel near Mount Emei, where you’ll rest and prepare for tomorrow’s journey into the mountains, surrounded by serenity and natural beauty. This Muslim-friendly tour ensures that you experience the spiritual and cultural highlights of Sichuan, with halal meals available throughout the day, allowing you to explore the rich heritage and awe-inspiring sites of this region in comfort.

Stay in Emei
After a hearty halal breakfast, begin your journey to Mount Emei, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that holds great natural and cultural significance. Known for its stunning landscapes and rich heritage, Mount Emei is not only one of China’s Four Great Buddhist Mountains but also a place of peace and spirituality, offering visitors an immersive experience in both nature and history.
Your day starts with a private transfer to the tourist centre, where you’ll board an eco-friendly bus for a scenic 1.5–2 hour ride up the mountain. Upon reaching Leidongping (2,400m), enjoy a 30-minute walk along stone steps that lead you to the cable car station.
A short 5-minute cable car ride will take you to the Golden Summit (3,077m), the highlight of Mount Emei. Here, you can admire the majestic 48-metre golden statue of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva and visit the ancient Huazang Temple, which has stood for over two millennia, providing a blend of spiritual history and architectural beauty.
Take about 1.5 hours to explore the summit, soaking in the panoramic views, and if you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of Mount Gongga and Wawu Mountain on a clear day. Mount Emei is also renowned for its sea of clouds, a breathtaking sight that adds a magical element to your experience.
After your time at the summit, descend by cable car and eco-bus, before returning to Chengdu in a private car, with the journey lasting around 2.5–3 hours. This tour offers a tranquil yet awe-inspiring opportunity to witness China’s Buddhist culture while enjoying the natural beauty of one of the country’s most iconic mountains.
