Chengdu–Jiuzhaigou Tour: Culture & Nature

Start your day at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where you’ll see playful pandas and adorable cubs in a lush, natural setting. Then, head to the peaceful Wenshu Temple, a spiritual haven rich in history, followed by a stroll through the nearby Wenshufang bazaar, known for its traditional crafts and local snacks.

In the afternoon, unwind like a local at Renmin Park—sip a cup of jasmine tea, play mahjong, or simply watch daily life unfold. As evening falls, explore the vibrant Jinli Old Street, where you can sample Sichuan snacks and enjoy colorful street performances.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will escort you to the train station for your high-speed journey to Huanglong Jiuzhai Station, a comfortable ride of about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Upon arrival, meet your local guide and begin a scenic 1.5 to 2-hour drive through the mountains to Jiuzhaigou. Along the way, take in the fresh alpine air and stunning landscapes. Once you arrive, check into your hotel and enjoy a leisurely afternoon to rest and acclimate to the higher altitude of 2,000–3,000 meters, preparing for the natural beauty that awaits.

After breakfast, set out for a full day of exploration in the breathtaking Jiuzhaigou National Park, known for its crystal-clear lakes, cascading waterfalls, and colorful alpine scenery.

Ride the eco-friendly sightseeing buses through the park’s three main areas—Shuzheng, Zechawa, and Rize Valleys—and hop off at famous spots such as Nuorilang Waterfall, Long Lake, Five-Color Pond, Panda Lake, Five Flower Lake, Pearl Shoal, and Mirror Lake. Wander along scenic wooden boardwalks, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and take your time soaking in the vivid natural beauty. Your guide will tailor the route and pace based on your interests and crowd conditions.

After breakfast, take a scenic 2-hour drive to Huanglong National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its stunning 3.6 km stretch of colorful travertine pools. These vibrant terraces resemble a golden dragon weaving through the valley beneath the snow-capped Xuebao Peak.

You’ll ride a cable car up the mountain, then enjoy a leisurely walk downhill, taking in breathtaking views of turquoise pools, cascading waterfalls, lush forests, and, if you’re lucky, glimpses of rare wildlife such as giant pandas or golden snub-nosed monkeys. After around three hours of exploration, your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport or train station for your onward journey.
